Funding Guidelines
The Los Tigres Del Norte Foundation (LTDNF)
has specific procedures and guidelines when awarding funds.
The primary focus of the foundation is to provide funding to
community-based 501 (c) (3) non-profit organizations that further
the enhancement, appreciation and understanding of Latino culture
through education and community outreach programs. LTDNF does
NOT provide funding for:
- *Individuals (scholarships,
stipends, fellowships, personal assistance)
*"For-profit" ventures
*Religious groups for religious purposes
*Capital campaigns, endowment funds, or memorials
*Lobbying, political groups, labor organizations or fraternal
activities
*Travel and Conferences
*Films
*Fundraising expenses, tickets, advertising, etc.
There is no formal application form.
Requests for funding should be made by letter and the proposal
should include the following information:
1. A description of the structure,
purpose, history, and program of the organization including the
names of key administrators and members of the board of directors.
2. A summary of the need for support and
how it will be used.
3. Detailed financial data on the
organization such as:
- -An independent audit
-Annual operating budget
-Sources of income
-Breakdown of expenditures by program, administration and
fundraising
-A copy of IRS ruling, dated after 1969 classifying the
organization as tax exempt under 501 (c) (3).
4. A copy of the organizations most
recent form 990.
5. A list of corporate donors and their
level of support
6. Other sources of funding.
7. Geographic Area/population served.
Applications must be received by
December 31 of the current fiscal year for consideration for funding
the following fiscal year. Awards will be announced in March.
